In view of the increasing participation of foreign investments in the Indonesian economy and... due to Indonesian participation in ASEAN Economic Community it is indeed important and relevant to accelerate the interest and attention of Indonesia (i.e. the government and the parliament). In this regards it is really urgent now for Indonesia to review/revise arbitration law (Law No. 30/1999) in particular with regard to international arbitration to make it more in line with the international arbitration law and practices. There is indeed a need for harmonizing the arbitration law, in particular with regard to international arbitration, in this case by referring to the UNCITRAL Model Law.
